About Kamaraj College of Continuing Education
In pristine purity, this College is like a first born flower, blown out by providence in a well nourished plant. We belong to a nation which is wedded to the ideals of renunciation and service. It may not be out of place to point out how Thiru. K.KAMARAJ, undoubtedly one of the greatest leaders of our times, stood up to the above ideal. It is therefore, indeed a good fortune that the College has been named after that great son.
The aim was to start an Arts College to ease pressure on existing Colleges and also to give higher education facilities and opportunities to many young men, with hidden talents and rich potentialities. It was a pathetic sight to see many youths wandering from place to place with signs of despair and helplessness, simply because their aspirations to have College education had not been fulfilled. In the light of the above the various Mahamaigal in Thoothukudi resolved to build a temple of learning as the fittest tribute to the Self-sacrificing activities and noble services rendered by Thiru.K.KAMARAJ to the progress of the country.
