About The Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Akola
The Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Akola was established in 1970. After the establishment of Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur in 2000, this Institute emerged as an independent Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, for the Western Vidarbha region.
Presently this institute imparts Post Graduate education (M.V.Sc.) in 10 disciplines and Ph.D. in 8 disciplines by course work.
The Institute also organizes dairy, poultry, sheep and goat farming training for livestock owners.
