My experience with Bharathiar University: My experience with Bharathiar University:
Bharathiar University in Coimbatore is a state run university Situated near the foothills of Marudhamalai.
It was started in 1982. The campus has a serene atmosphere with lot of trees, etc. Though the university has improved a lot and keep improving, I would like to mention some of the drawbacks of the university. I am mentioning only the drawbacks as good things are given in the university website itself!
The library in the university has a decent collection of books but not maintained properly. The books are not stacked properly. For example, if you want to search a book in psychology it is not sufficient if you search in psychology section, you have to search the whole library. The authorities claim that, it is students who misplace (hide) the books the books in other areas. Though that is true to a little extent, the real reason is the librarians do not stack the books properly. This can be understood if you check the books in the stand. According to the number, theyare not arranged.
Though the university is very big, there is no proper place for the visitors to sit even. Though there are many lawns, there are no stone benches in them. During admission times, distances education classes it will be very difficult for people to sit somewhere.
Though the university has lot of trees, still lot of trees can be planted around the department, as they are very sunny. Though there are lot number of students there are only four university buses, which are not sufficient. People have to suffer daily in the crowded buses.
Hostels are heavily crowded. They are not managed professionally leading to crowding of rooms. Most of the rooms are unhygienic. Lot of things to be done in the case of hostels.
