About Dr. G.U. Pope College of Engineering
Dr.G.U.Pope College of Engineering was established in the year 2002 at Sawyerpuram and is run by CSI Thoothukudi-Nazareth Diocese. It is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution. The institution is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Tirunelveli. The college is awarded with “Best College of the year" award in 2009. The institution focuses to deliver high quality technical education to the students. Other than education, the college gives importance to sports activities. It is noted that, the college has conducted many university level events, Kabaddi tournament and Chess tournament.

Academics Dr.G.U.Pope College of Engineering offers technical education in 3 branches of Engineering- Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). The Department of Science and Humanities(S&H) of the college has experienced and qualified faculty members. The department of S&H creates exposure to the students on the latest trends and disciplines in the Engineering domain.
Each and every department of the college has separate associations and the associations conduct workshops, seminars and symposiums every year. The college motivates the students to present paper in the National and International conference and symposiums.
Facilities Dr.G.U.Pope College of Engineering has a wide campus and it provides a friendly learning environment to the students. CSE, ECE and EEE department of the college has well-furnished and equipped laboratories. The laboratories have modern and latest equipment needed for the practical classes. The college library has variety of books, national journals, international journals, research papers and project reports. The library and the information center of the college helps the students to develop knowledge and innovation. The college provides transport facilities for the pick-up and the drop of the students. The college also has separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The college has playground and facilities for indoor and outdoor games. The entire campus of the college is under the surveillance of CCTV cameras, to ensure the safety of staff and the students.
