HCIMT or Holy Cross Institute of Management and Technology is a private institute affiliated to the University of Calicut. It is managed by the International Catholic Women's Religious congregation of Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross that is registered under the Kerala Holy Cross Sisters Society. It was founded by Fr. Theodosius Florentini, a teacher, from Switzerland in 1856.
FacilitiesIf we talk about the facilities available at the college, it is having all the required infrastructure for offering the best education. The library is holding more than 9000 books. Koha 3.16 open source software is used to create the database of the documents and the N-List facility is also available there. Students, as well as, staff are allowed to take advantage of the internet facility in the library.
The college has different labs for all the subjects. They have a well-set computer lab, bakery lab, food production lab, pattern making lab, housekeeping lab, etc. Sports-related facilities include equipment and a playground for various outdoor and indoor games. Students can play tennis, basketball, handball, volleyball, etc.
Apart from the above-mentioned facilities, the college has a Wi-Fi enabled campus, a canteen that serves hygienic food at a reasonable cost, a spacious auditorium, a seminar hall and hostel facility for outstation students.
AdmissionFor admissions, students can apply offline or online as per their suitability. For offline application, the application form can be obtained from the college office by making payment of Rs. 350/- for degree courses and Rs. 250/- for Diploma courses. This application form can also be downloaded online and then the filled application form along with the DD in favour of Holy Cross IMT payable at Calicut can be sent to the principal. Lastly, the online application can also be submitted on the portal. In this case, the students need to get the print out of the submitted application and send it to the principal enclosed with the DD. In all these 3 cases, applicants also need to enclose a stamped and self-addressed acknowledgment card with the application. Along with these 3 documents, attested photocopies of TC, mark sheets of qualifying exams, SSLC and caste certificate, if applicable, also need to be attached. - Padmini
