About Amala Cancer Research Centre
Doctor of Philosophy - Universities of Calicut and Mahatma Gandhi have recognised Amala Cancer Research Centre for Ph.D. work in subjects of Immunology, Biochemistry and Radiobiology.
Nursing and Paramedical Courses - Nursing teaching programmes conducted in the Institution has a positive influence in our nursing care. The General Nursing and Midwifery Diploma course was started in 1980. It has a sanctioned strength of 27 students in a batch.
Amala Cancer Hospital and Research Centre was established in 1978 as a nonprofit, charitable institution aimed at treatment and management of Cancer in Central Kerala. Over the years Amala has grown to become one of the major voluntary tertiary level hospital in India having modern diagnostic, therapeutic and research facilities to combat Cancer and other ailments. This 550 bed hospital complex is unique in having three principal systems of medicine namely Allopathy, Ayurveda and Homeopathy in the same campus. We are handling an average of 4,000 new Cancer cases and 6,000 Cancer inpatients in an year. The centre manages 35,000 Cancer outpatient visits yearly.
Amala has started Radiodiagnostic Technology Course in the year 1993. This two year diploma course is affiliated to C.M.A.I. During 1996 two more diploma programmes namely " Radiotherapy Technicians Course" and "Laboratory Technicians Course" were started with affiliation from C.M.A.I.
