It was housed in the ground floor of the historical main building. The department comprised of a senior laboratory housed in main block with store, generator room and two separate rooms for teaching and non- teaching staff. In the adjacent block there were two junior laboratories with separate dark room facility. The department flourished with time and produced talented scientists and engineers. The department grew in stature and a separate full fledged block has been constructed. The two storey new block has two spacious laboratories, dark room, computer lab and separate rooms for teaching and non- teaching staff in its first floor and three class rooms with the main store for the storage of equipment in ground floor.
