C.V. Raman College of Engineering was established in the year 1997 under the Aegis of Raman Education Society, a registered society under the Societies registration Act 1860 to promote, access to provide state of art in Engineering education. Initially this college started functioning in A/17 industrial Estate, Mancheswar, which is registered office of the society.
The Institution is providing technical education in under graduate and post graduate level and in various streams including, MBA and Marine Engineering.
The institution is approved by the Govt. of Odisha and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). Further, the college is approved by Director General Shipping, Mumbai and affiliated to Indian Maritime University, Tamil Nadu. The college is accredited to National Board of Accreditation and declared as “A" grade Institution by the National Assessment Accreditation Committee , an apex body appointed by UGC.
Recently on evaluation of the performance and academic attainment of the college, the University Grant Commission had conferred the Autonomous status for five year i.e. 2011-12 to 2016-17.
