About Sona School of Management
Sona School of Management was established in the year 1998 and is located in Salem in the state of Tamil Nadu. It offers a two-year full-Time management program leading to an MBA degree and is affiliated with Anna University. Various specializations like Finance, Marketing, HR, Productions, etc are available in MBA courses. The college is approved by AICTE and is accredited by the NBA (National Board of Accreditation), New Delhi. It was accorded ‘AICTE – CII Award for Best Industry – Linked Technical Institute in India 2019' and it also ranked 12th in India among all the B Schools under the category ‘Outstanding B Schools of Excellence by CSR Magazine 2019 survey.
FacilitiesThe institute has a library in a separate building and has a large number of books, reference material, journals, and documents related to management discipline as well as some allied subjects. The library is fully computerized and has 36 terminals for use of the students for accessing the various material. There are many facilities available to the students and staff in the library like the book bank, newspaper clipping service, scanning and photocopying, inter-library loan, Wi-fi with high internet speed, DELNET for off-campus books, etc.
There are two MBA Computer labs with dedicated servers and specific software applications. The system is protected using the K7 Business Lite Security Antivirus Software. The students can simulate business strategy games related to Economics, Finance, Marketing, and Operations areas.
The college provides a good and robust facility for indoor and outdoor sports and games for the all-round personality development of the students. A gym and music facility is available for the students interested in the regular workouts for keeping good health. There is separate fitness and health improvement facility available for the girl students. They can of course use the common gym facilities also.
There are separate hostels for the boys and the girls. Hostels are managed by an able team consisting of Warden, Deputy Warden, Assistant Warden, Residential Tutors, and Mess Representatives. A new international hostel complex is under construction.
A Music Club is available in the institute with all the facilities like Audio systems, Mixers, Amplifiers, Speakers, Microphones, Two-in-one tape recorder, Keyboard, Guitar, Violin, Flute, Rhythm Pad, Drums, Trumpet, Saxophone, Clarinet, Sahnai, etc and students can practice the music sessions in various forms like light music, classical music, or instrumental music.
AdmissionsCandidates having obtained 50% marks (45% for reserved category) in their graduation in any discipline, through the Class 10 + HSC + 3 years or 4 years Degree course route or Class 10 + 3 Years Diploma + 3 years Degree course route, are eligible to apply for the MBA course offered by this institution. These eligibility criteria are formed as per AICTE norms.
Admission is provided based on the performance of the candidates in competitive exams like CAT, MAT, CMAT, GMAT, and TANCET. 50% of the allocated seats are for the reserved quota candidates while 15% of the allocated seats are reserved for foreign nationals/PIO.
The candidates have to register on the college website and follow the detailed instructions for admission to the course through the combined admission test routes only. Depending upon their merit and score in the combined entrance examinations they will be given allotment in the desired colleges through the admission counseling rounds.
