About Indian Institute of Management
Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, popularly known as IIM Calcutta, was started in 1961. IIM Calcutta is the first national institution for postgraduate study and research in management. The main objective of the institute when it was started, was to become a leading international center for management education. According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking, the institute is ranked third among management schools. IIM Calcutta is the only management institute in India to have triple accreditations. The institution is accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). IIM Calcutta is the only business school in India with a membership of CEMS (Global Alliance in Management Education).
Admission at IIM CalcuttaIIM Calcutta offers various postgraduate programs and doctoral programs in the field of management. Students who are interested in pursuing a career in management should register their name on the official website of the institution. To gain admission to the programs offered by this institute applicants must pass the corresponding entrance examinations conducted at the national or state level. The minimum qualification for admission is a bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited university. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 60%. Candidates must have a valid CAT/GMAT entrance exam score in order to be admitted to Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses. Candidates seeking admission to MBA Executives Programme (MBAEx) must hold a valid score in the GMAT examination. Admission to the 'Postgraduate Program for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing' (PGPEXVLM) requires a valid score in an aptitude test followed by an interview round conducted at the campus. Students seeking admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) must have passed the written test conducted at the institute.
