About Arya Kanya Degree College
OverviewEstablished in 1975, Arya Kanya Degree College, Allahabad offers courses exclusively for women. It is affiliated to the University of Allahabad and the syllabi of the Arts courses are based on that of the University. The B.A. courses are of three years' duration and the M.A. courses of two years (four semesters). Additionally, a Tailoring course of three months has been started. The college will soon be offering a short-term certificate course in Computer Application (CCCA). Scholarships are offered to students from the underprivileged section and there is a book bank facility as well for them. The college is also an exam center for the annual university exams.
Campus infrastructureThe Wi-Fi enabled campus of Arya Kanya Degree College has power backup with CCTV cameras to ensure the safety of the students. The classrooms are equipped with the requisite audio-visual teaching aids. It is good to know that there are ramps for physically challenged people. In addition to a computer lab and a music lab, the college has a library with photocopying facilities. Indoor and outdoor facilities are available for sports and games.
Cultural activities are conducted from time to time along with events to earmark special days, such as Gandhi Jayanti, National Education Day, Republic Day, etc. NSS and medical camps are scheduled each year and career counselling is provided to students as well.
