About B M Sreenivasaiah College of Engineering

BMS College of Engineering was started in 1946 by Dharmaprakasha, Rajakaryaprasaktha Late B.M.Sreenivasaiah (Businayana Mukundadas Sreenivasaiah). Himself deprived of higher education by the force of circumstances, he was determined to do something which could promote the cause of technical education in our State. A man of vision, he had foreseen the urgent need for providing facilities for the same and boldly came forward to set up a First Grade Technical College and maintained the same with his own resources. BMS College of Engineering was the First Private Technical Institution of its kind in the whole of India. After the demise of Late B.M.Sreenivasaiah, his son Late B.S.Narayan took effective steps to further nurture his father's mission. The College was brought under a Trust in 1957 called "The B.M.Sreenivasaiah Educational Trust". It was created by Late B.S.Narayan, the dynamic and enterprising son of the founder. The Trust is dutifully serving the cause of education.
