About Sri Krishna Arts and Science College
Sri Krishna Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, in the state of Tamil Nadu was established in the year 1997 as an autonomous Institution. It offers UG, PG, and Doctoral courses to eligible candidates. The college has an impressive student population of about 8500 and had got NAAC accreditation. The courses are designed in accordance with the UGC standards of Choice Based Credit System. The college is having excellent facilities for web-based learning and students can log in to their virtual classrooms. The college claims the highest number of Google Classroom users the world over. It is affiliated with Bharathiar University.
FacilitiesCollege is having a spacious library having around 30000 books and also has many periodicals which are subscribed for the benefit of the students. It has also got a video conferencing facility, separate room for research scholars, Group study room, reading room etc.
There is much emphasis on sports and physical education in the college. All the sports and games are made available to the students and athletes are encouraged to participate in the inter-college tournaments.
Under the NSS (National Service Scheme) the college executes many programmes through student volunteers. Hundreds of student participated in these programmes related to Special rural camp, Blood donation camp, a Training programme for a Blood donor, Seminars for awareness, Cleaning programme, Tree plantation programme, Medical checkup camp, Nationally Important day celebrations, Demonstrating of skits on social awareness, Personality development programme etc.
The college is also having an NCC unit. The NCC unit has a full company of 50 Cadets. Various NCC activities are carried out around the year including the annual NCC camp and other related ones.
AdmissionsThe students having passed their higher secondary examination conducted by the education department of Govt of Tamil Nadu or equivalent examination from elsewhere in the country are eligible to apply for the UG courses in this institution. UG courses are for 3 years duration comprising of 6 semesters (2 semesters in each year). The students having passed their UG degrees can apply for PG courses which are of 2 years duration comprising of 4 semesters (2 semesters in each year). The candidates from other board/universities need to produce the original certificates and other relevant certificates for verification before the last date of admission. The admission committee finalises the selection list as per the direction of the Directorate of College Education. 50% of the sanctioned strength is admitted based on the rules of reservation, and admission on merit is followed for the remaining 50%. The candidate admitted will be asked to submit at the time of admission, the original copies of the following documents - 1. Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate issued by the head of the Institution previously studied. 2. Statement of Marks of the Qualifying Examinations (10th, 12th, UG, or 10+2+3 or 10+3(Diploma)+3). 3. Provisional/Degree Certificate (in case of students seeking Admission for PG Course). 4. Eligibility Certificate by the University if necessary. - Umesh
