Reviews of Loyola CollegeMy college days in Loyola Loyola college is one of the best Arts and Science college in Chennai. Situated near Nungambakkam railway station it is well known to all. The college always had star attraction as it boosts of producing many tamil actors past and present.
The college is known for its high quality of education and also its contribution to sports in various fields. Though it had produced many actors it has also equally produced many sports persons.College has well qualified lecturers who are ready to help you in every aspect of your life.
Apart form the regular courses the college also has some unique courses that you may not find in other colleges. I will be discussing couple of them which will be useful for those who want are in great need of it.
The college also has Post Graduate Diploma courses which will be useful for those who want to do any specialization in a particular field. The one such course that is in top of my head is the Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Chemistry (PGDAC). It is a one year diploma course where students will be trained technically for 6 months and sent for company training for another 6 months. Here the students get exposure to working environment during their studies. In most of the cases the company absorbs the trainee if he is skilled and suited for their work.
Loyola is also famous for Visual communication course which had produced many directors in tamil film industry. Students are trained in every aspect of visual communication technology which not only includes film industry training but also photography.
Centre of People studies is one of the popular course where students conduct surveys during political elections and used to predict quite accurately the outcome of the election. They also participate in lot of other surveys and educate people in every field.
There is lot of scope in the future for those taking up various courses in this college. They are unique from other colleges in the way they conduct some of the rare courses that I had mentioned above.

| Loyola College-a place for over all development Lets your light shine,is the tag of the college. As mentioned one can have a diversity of exposures to get a key to their success. As a part of our Co-curricular activities,we also have to study some other subjects. Let me figure out some of them-arts for science graduates, science for arts graduates, personality development, social analysis, world religion, value added English, one foreign language, one other language. Apart from this students should also complete some credits in any of the given activities:NCC,NSS,YRCS,Rotaract Club,Enviro Club,Friends of Police etc.,Should also render some service to community as part of their academics.Coming to regular academics all subjects have excellant facultys and you are monitored and evaluated by continous assessment. When I need to say something about hostel, I can simply say its a strict hostel with some liberty. Food and environment here is great. - By Ganesh Babu, 16 Oct 2009
| Loyola: the pride of Chennai It is not surprising that Loyola college is rated as one of the best in India in each of the India Today rankings of the best colleges in India. Even the Govt of India ranking has placed this college among the top five colleges in India. The standards are very high, and everything is based on case studies, project work, presentations and so on. In particular, the commerce stream stands out for its most innovative teaching methods and the BSc Visual Communication course was started for the first time, only in this college. The MSW degree of this college is now being conducted in two shifts and women are also admitted in some PG courses. - By ABSivakumar, 16 Sep 2022
