About Guru Nanak College, Chennai

Guru Nanak College for Arts and Science affiliated to Madras University for which National Assessment and Accreditation Council has granted five-star status, has been the only College that was issued ISO certificate. This institution was established and managed by the Guru Nanak Educational Society, Chennai. The College has been located on a peaceful and calm stretch near Velachery in Chennai with learning-induced environment. The College is a minority institution under Madras University with good academic infrastructure endorsing best teaching and learning curriculum.

There have been various courses in different streams in arts and science with practical-oriented MBA and MCA courses too. Being a co-educational College, this has a self-funded evening college programme with the day college under the aided scheme of the Tamil Nadu government as well. Though priority has been given to Sikh students in admission, students from other caste, creed and religions are also offered admission.

With the well-maintained hostel for men and efficient library and labs of all kinds, Guru Nanak College which has a placement cell offers scholarship to meritorious students as well.

Excellent Academics 4 out of 5

I studied in Corporate Secretaryship department of day college. Though, initially it may not look that green to be in the college, (we may not expect that usual college hungama stuff), I was quite impressed by the expertise and know-how of the professors. Hats-off. Though I do not know much about the other departments, the gold medals got by the college students talk their own stuff. The year we passed out, 2001, we had got 14 GOLD MEDALS!! Do you believe that?? And yes, proudly, our deprtment got 4 of them... Now do anyone think about not joining the college?

Guru Nanak College of arts and science located in velacherry, Chennai is 39 years old institution. You can get that feeling once you step inside the college. Nice big trees every where add a serene study atmosphere in the college. In the first instance any one would love to study in that college. But there are some shortcomings also. The class rooms are not maintained properly.The rooms can be more clean and neat. Toilet facilities are not so good.
