FISAT is one college in Kerala that will help you in the overall development of personality rather than providing just the academic values. FISAT also provides with one of the best teaching facilities among the self-financing colleges in Kerala.
FISAT has a large number of active organizations like IEEE, ISTE, ECHO, SWAN and many others. Well, I can confidently say that all these societies are active. From time to time, various seminars, demo classes, festivals are being conducted. Well, the student representative of IEEE in the Kerala section is a student of FISAT. He, in fact, visited Singapores NUS as a part of a meeting of IEEE. Thats the reach of FISAT.
Teaching is really good. A few teachers are from NIT, CET, IIT. All teachers are well qualified and classes are taken properly. All facilities are being utilized as well, like teaching using LCDs and other mechanisms. There is a good degree of strictness as far as academics is concerned.
FISAT also has some unique features. It has its own super computer Dakshina. Also training is provided on various computer courses by the students of Free Software Cell.
Has very good hostel and canteen facilities.
FISAT has got the best library among self-financing colleges in Kerala. It has been rated A+. Has over 35000 books, by far the most among self-financing colleges and also has monthly subscriptions to various e-journals. A cost of about a lakh is spent on these monthly e-journals. ALs a vast collection of CD-ROMS and floppy discs are also available. The library is fully computerised with OPAC. Like all the top colleges, books can be reserved and searches on the net.
Transportation facilities are available from the college. Also, private buses run through the same route. The college is accessible. You get the bus to Mookkannoor from Angamaly, the nearest city.
The college also offers good spoarts facilities. It has a basketball court, a modern state-of-the-art fitness centre, an internet cafe, language lab for learning various languages.
