|GITAM School of Technology is part of GITAM University, Hyderabad campus. GITAM University is a deemed-to-be university that has campuses in three cities - Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam and Bengaluru. GITAM School of Technology, Hyderabad was established in the year 2009. It had only 4 undergraduate programs to offer, when it began but now it offers a number of UG, PG and integrated dual degree programs in different streams of engineering. There are many research programs available too. Apart from the School of Technology, the Hyderabad campus itself has 5 other institutes, namely – School of Pharmacy, School of Architecture, School of Science, School of Humanities & Social Sciences and Hyderabad Business School.|
The engineering disciplines in which GITAM School of Technology offers undergraduate programs are - Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, IT, Computer Science, Industrial, Electronics & Communication, Electrical and Instrumentation. The college also offers a couple of dual degree integrated programs. All the courses are approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
Infrastructure and facilities The campus at GITAM School of Technology has the latest infrastructure. The classrooms, the library and the laboratories have the most modern facilities. The library or the Knowledge Resource Centre has a great collection of books, periodicals and journals from all fields. The teaching faculty is highly qualified and experienced. Innovative things like start-ups and entrepreneurship are encouraged here. The Training & Placement Cell facilitates the placement of the students by helping them on aspects such as personality development and honing of leadership and employable skills. In this respect, the placement cell arranges seminars, lectures and interactive sessions for the students, from time to time.
Pramana is the techno-cultural-management fest that is organized by the GITAM University Hyderabad campus with much fanfare. It drawsa huge number of students from other colleges across the city and beyond. The college also gets to organize various other co-curricular activities. There are clubs like Aero Club, Literary Club and many more, based on various sports and cultural activities.
Admissions Admissions at GITAM School of Technology is through GITAM Admission Test (GAT) that is held online at around 50 centres across the country. The selections and allotment of the branch is based on the rankings in the GAT merit list. Application for the test can be made through online as well as offline mode, the details of which are given in the college website itself.
