About Siddaganga Institute of Technology

The Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT), Tumkur, is one among the 130+ educational institutions run by the Sri Siddaganga Educational Society. It was established in the year 1963 starting with three Courses leading to Bachelor of Engineering in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and is now offering undergraduate degree courses in 12 disciplines. In addition it also runs post-graduates programmes in 6 disciplines, including MBA and MCA Courses. It has nearly 4000 students pursuing the above courses with a faculty strength of about 250. The Institute is Affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum and has granted permanent affiliation to SIT.

Siddaganga Institute of technology was established on 1963,BH road,Tumkur around 70 KM away from Bangalore/Bengaluru.The college is running under Sree Siddaganga Education Society.An autonomous institute and affiliated to VTU,belgaum.It is recognized by AICTE,and accredited by NBA.Its undergraduate courses are Accredited by the National Board of Accreditation,ie NBA. The Institute is one of the 14 Engineering Colleges under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) a World Bank Project. The placement facility of this college is excellent and in every year students get placed top most MNCs like Infosys,Wipro,TCS,IBM,Robert Bosch,Mysore Petrochemicals,Grasim Industries and in many more.More than 80% students placed every year in different organisations. Companies are also coming to hire students from this institute,because of the institution standard,and the quality of education. The college is famous for Infrastructure,Quality education,and Placements.
