About Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College

Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital is the newest addition to the emerging medical education scenario in Assam. The first medical school of Assam was established 100 years back in Dibrugarh as Berry White Medical School. The same school was upgraded to Assam Medical College in 1948 on 3rd of November. Gauhti Medical College in Guwahati and Silchar Medical College in Silchar were established in 1960 and 1968 respectively. Then following a long gap of more than 40 years, three new medical colleges at Jorhat, Barpeta and Tezpur .

The PIN number not mentioned, it should be 781301. 3. The University is wrongly updated as "Sri Krishnadevaraya University", it should be "Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences".
