The department of sociology has been offering courses at various levels since a very long time. The courses are designed to strike a balance between tradition and modernity. Aim of the department is to produce students, who, by understanding the contemporary complex patterns of social behaviour, are able to achieve success in their life.

The department offers courses at B.A., M.A. and M. Phil. level. Facility for Ph. D. is also available.

B.A. Sociology
M.A. SociologyEligibility criteria- Bachelor’s degree from Banasthali University or from a University recognized by the Banasthali University as equivalent thereto.
M.Phil SociologyCriteria of eligibility – Required master’s degree in one of the Social Science discipline from Banasthali University or any other recognized examination equivalent thereto with aggregate marks equal to or more than 55% or B.A. with minimum 48% aggregate marks followed by M.A. with minimum 48% aggregate marks. Students from SC/ ST category can take admission to this course if their aggregate marks are minimum 40% in both the above courses.
