Durgadevi Saraf Institute of Management Studies is a business school. The B-school is founded by the donations of Mahavirprasad G Saraf and is established by Rajasthani Sammelan. The name of the institute has been given on the mother;s name of Mr. Mahavirprasad G Saraf.

The B-school provides Masters and PG Diploma degree in management studies programme. The programmes are recognized by All India Council of Technical Education and Government of Maharashtra.

DSIMS is an Educational Institute from Rajasthani Sammelan.The institute is greatly supported by Shri Mahavirprasad G. Saraf who has offered donation and that is the reason, the college name is in the name of Late Smt. Durgadevi Saraf- Mother of Shri Mahavirprasadji.
This college is dedicated for Management studies and offers all related courses.

Infrastructure and other details

The whole campus is an example of excellent infrastructure. It contains advanced classrooms, Wi-fi internet connections with super speed and centrally operated air conditioners.
The class rooms are very spacious and well arranged to facilitate proper teaching. All classrooms have separate LCD for facilitating better teaching options.
The institute also has one Knowledge Resource Center which is basically a library containing all rich books related to management. Apart from books, it also has number of good journals,famous bibliographies and other important information which may be required by students or faculties.
Their Computer Lab is Hi-tech containing more than 100 computers connected with LAN in the campus. They also have internet facilities.

Hostel facility

The college also offer hostel facility to the female students who wants to pursue their course but are not having accommodation. Hostel rooms are on twin sharing and have option for A/c or non A/c. All rooms are clean and well equipped with attached bathrooms. Hostel rooms also have internet facility which allows students to study even when they are at hostel.
medical ans security services are also available there.

Scholarship details

The college offer scholarships-
IRB Scholarship Endowment Fund and BKT Endowment Freeship Fund. The first one is for meritorious students who have excellent academic records. The second one is for students who are not able to afford their education cost.

Review of Durgadevi Saraf Management Institute 3 out of 5

Durgadevi Saraf Institute of Management Studies is one of very the few good management institutes located in suburbs of Mumbai. Commuting to this college is pretty easy as it is approachable from Malad station, Goregaon station and Western Express Highway as well. This is a relatively new institute and so the infrastructure and facilities provided for students are pretty good. Even the faculty staff is decent always try to give valuable guidance to the management students. At this level, more than teaching, students require good professional guidance and this institute delivers satisfactorily in that regard (though nothing great). At the same time, I feel that this institute can ramp up some more good professors to guide a large number of students giving equal attention to all. The canteen of this college is decent at best and many students prefer to eat outside due to lack of space in the canteen. There are some very good and cheap options for eating outside the college as Malad is an area full of food lovers. "Mauj", the annual cultural festival of Durgadevi Saraf Institute is conducted very well and students participate in it with great zeal and enthusiasm.
