About United Missionary Primary Teachers’ Training Institute

Initially the institution was named as United Missionary Training College. The institute had been established by Missionary Society (BMS) and London Missionary Society (L.M.S.) now the Church of North India (CNI) jointly. The active support of the church of Scotland Mission is equally revered by the institute. The American Baptist Mission, Methodist Mission and others were invited at a later stage for their support to the growth of this institution. The Institute is also affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Primary Education.

The institution UMPTTI, has traversed over a hundred years to the Greater Glory of God in the service of womanhood.

The thrust of United Missionary Primary Teachers' Training Institute is not only limited to personality development, empowerment of women and in producing trained teachers but also to imbibe a strong character of Christian discipline, model values, marked academic results.
