About Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering And Technology
Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering and Technology, Malda was established in the year 2010. The college was founded by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India for upliftment of the people belonging to backward classes or school dropouts and women so that they may learn technical skills and become self-employed and financially stable and independent. The institute is an autonomous college and is mentored by National Institute of Technology, Durgapur. The college offers certificate courses, Diploma courses and Degree courses in the field of Engineering and Technology.
Eligibility criteriaFor admission in two-year certificate course, the candidate must have passed class Xth from a reputed board with English, Maths and Science subjects.
Admission and selection procedureSelection of candidates for admission in certificate courses is based on the entrance test conducted at national level(GET-I). The candidates are allotted seats on the merit, availability of seats and choice of specialization. The application form are available online and offline from the 1st week of April every year.
How to reach Malda?Malda is easily accessible by rail and road. It is at the distance of 347 km from Kolkata and 246 km from Siliguri. The National highway-35 passes through the town. Several buses ply on the route of Malda. If one wishes to travel through train, then Malda lies on the main line between Kolkata and New Jalpaiguri.
