Sovarani Memorial College, located in the Districe of Howrah, West Bengal was established in 1971. It is co-educational college under the University of Calcutta. The college provides academic excellence & to improve the quality of backward and rural area residents has introduced job oriented courses. The college also has NCC and NSS units
Departments & CoursesThe Sovarani Memorial College has totally16 departments. Both Honours and General course subjects are offered in the streams of Science, Arts and Commerce for undergraduate students. Since last year, post graduate degrees via distance mode have been started in Bengali, English and History. Additionaly, various courses under the 'Entry-in-services' funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC), are also offered in this college.
