Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya, Port Blair is a premier Institution in the Union Territory of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This Institution of higher education had its inception on 6th November 1967. Within a span of 40 years, it has blossomed into a full-fledged institution. The College offers 16 courses at the Undergraduate level leading to B.A/B.Sc./B.Com/BCA/BBA (Tourism & Travel Management). It also offers 9 courses at the Post-graduate level leading to M.A/M.Sc. and M.Com. degrees. The College is also a Centre of almost all the UPSC Competitive Examinations. It has also been declared as NET Examinations Centre by UGC from December 2002 onwards.
The Islands of Andaman & Nicobar are home to some of the indigenous tribes. JNRM has been the hub of education to students from these tribes and has produced diligent graduates almost in all disciplines.
The College has an enrolment of 1918 students in the academic session 2006-07, including 138 students belonging to ST Category of these Islands.
Introduction and OverviewJawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya is a college situated in Port Blair, Andaman. It is the first degree college of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The college has all three disciplines of science, arts and commerce. This college provides degrees in many of the subjects found under these disciplines. In total it offers 27 courses.
