About Dhivya College of Education
Dhivya College of Education was established in the year 2005 and is managed by B.Selvarajan Educational Trust. It is a co-educational institution and it offers B.Ed and M.Ed programmes. Dhivya College of Education is approved by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), Bengaluru and is recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The college was previously affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore and now it is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai. The college is accredited with 'B' grade by NAAC, Bengaluru. The main aim of the institution is to provide quality education to the students from rural areas.
Infrastructure
Dhivya College of Education is located at Chetpet in Thiruvannamalai district. The college is spread over an area of 5.515 acres of land and the campus provides a calm, serene and eco-friendly environment to the students and staffs. The built up area of the college is 3500 sq.m. The college has digitial classrooms and well equipped laboratories. The college library has wide collection of books.
Academics
Dhivya College of Education offers B.Ed and M.Ed programmes. The duration of B.Ed and M.Ed programme is 2 years. Both Tamil and English medium of instructions is available in the college and the students can select the medium of instructions as Tamil or English depending upon their choice.
The B.Ed programme consists of theory and practical components. The theory component covers the perspectives in education and curriculum and pedagogic studies. The practical component includes the engagement in field-The self, the child and community and school.
The college conducts examinations regularly and evaluates the academic excellence of the students based on their performance in the theoretical and the practical examinations conducted by the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University.
