Introduction and Overview

The Zoological Survey of India was founded in 1977 in the Andaman and Nicobar islands. It is affiliated to the Pondicherry University. This is a small college with very limited number of faculties. Generally students choose this institute to pursue research work. The professors and the director of this institute have contributed a lot in studying the pattern of coral reefs in the seas bordering Andaman and the Nicobar islands. They have studied the modern and traditional reefs and have published valuable results based on those studies. This institute can be chosen to serve as a project assistant or a research fellow on a government project. This will be fruitful for a student's career.
