About Acharya Girish Chandra Bose College

Acharya Girish Chandra Bose College was known as Bangabasi College of Commerce formerly. Bangabasi College of Commerce was established on 4th October 1964 and changed its name to Acharya Girish Chandra Bose College on 5th May 2004.

In the year of 1965 the college comes under affiliation to the University of Calcutta and in 2011 National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) accredited it with 'B' Grade.

It is a co-educational college.

The college offers following courses:
1. 3 years Bachelor degree in commerce:
i. B.Com (Hons.)
ii. B.Com (General)
2. 3 years Bachelor degree in Arts:
i. BA - Honours in Bengali
ii. BA - Honours in English
iii. BA (General) [Bengali, English, Education, Political Science, History]

The college allows students to take admission who have passed 10+2 std. Higher Secondary or its equivalent examination.
