About Pandit Baliram Sharma College, Banka
Pandit Baliram Sharma College located in Banka district of Bihar was established in 1959. The college is a constituent unit of Tilka Manjhi University, Bhagalpur and approved and recognized by Government of Bihar. The college is also affiliated with University Grant Commission.
Infrastructure and Facilities
The college is situated in a lush green campus. The infrastructure is not very good but it has all the essential resources to help students in gaining quality education. The classrooms are airy and well ventilated having basic facilities.
There are laboratories for different subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology etc. Although there are enough resources in these laboratories but they need to be updated with latest tools and apparatus.
The college library is stocked with enough books including text books, reference books, journals, reports etc. required by the students.
There is no canteen in the campus which causes inconvenience to the students as they have to buy edibles from outside market which are generally unhygienic.
Extra curricular activities
There is a playground in the college campus where students play a number of games and the college administration also organizes games and sports events to encourage the students' participation in games and sports. The science and literary society of the college organizes various cultural fests and competition on regular intervals.
Academics
BPS college offers Intermediate and Honors degree courses in the faculty of Arts and Science. There is sufficient pupil-teacher ratio and the teaching staffs are very helpful and supportive. The college is trying to get permission from UGC to offer more graduate courses.
