Lal Bahadur Shashtri Memorial College, established in 1971 is located in the Jamshedpur district of Jharkhand. The college is a constituent unit of Kolhan University, Chaibasa and approved and recognized by the Government of Jharkhand.
Infrastructure & Facilities
The college is located in a green environment on a land area of 12 acres and has average quality infrastructure. The classrooms are spacious and ventilated and loaded with all the basic facilities like proper desk, benches etc.
There are separate laboratories for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology etc. having enough resources to carry out the practical which enhance the learning
process.
The college library houses thousands of books based on different subjects and topics. There is huge collection of text books, reference books, magazines, reports and journals. The student can also borrow books from the library as per the rule.
Co-Curricular Activities
The college lays equal emphasis on games and sports and hence it has special games and sports unit which encourages and guides the students to take active participation in various games and sports events.
The college has two boys and one girls unit of N.C.C which carry out the programs as per the schedule. There is also two unit of N.S.S, one boy and one girls unit, comprising 100 students who carry out many social service programs like tree plantation, blood donation camp, AIDS and Malaria awareness program, cleanliness awareness programs etc.
Academics
LBSM College offers under graduate programs to honors level in numerous subjects of Arts, Science and Commerce. The college also offers Vocational courses like B.C.A (Bachelor of Computer Applications) and B.B.A (Bachelor of Business Administration) and Ad-On courses like Rural Development and Electronics & Information Technology. The college is trying to offer some more courses like B.Ed and RG in upcoming years. Within short time span, with the sincere efforts and dedication of its teaching faculty and other staffs, the college has earned great appreciations. LBSM College is dedicated towards providing high quality education to students coming from tribal region and poor and privileged section of society.
