Singhbhum College, Chandil, established in 1973 is recognized under University Grant Commission, New Delhi. This college is a constituent unit of Kolhan University, Chaibasa and approved and recognized by Jharkhand Government.
Infrastructure & Facilities
The college is located in a green campus surrounded by plants and trees and has average quality infrastructure. There are separate block for each department. The classrooms are ventilated and spacious and have all the requisite resources. There is an auditorium cum conference hall where all most of the college programs are organized.
There are laboratories for all the subjects though not very modern yet it has enough tools and apparatus. The college library has a good collection of books on many subjects including text books, reference books, dictionaries, journals, magazines, reports etc.
There is proper arrangement of safe drinking water and parking facility within the campus.
Extracurricular Activities
The college has its own playground where students play a number of games like football, cricket, kho-kho, kabbadi etc.
There is a unit of NSS and NCC in the college which organizes many programs and seminars on social and cultural issues. Under N.C.C cadet training programs many students receive cadet training every year and participate in many social awareness and volunteer service which arouses a feeling of responsibility and social service among students.
Academics
The college offers course up to graduation level in many subjects of Arts, Science and Commerce. The college has been consistently producing better result because of the dedicated and sincere teaching staffs who are using new and creative methods of teaching to enhance the learning process of students.
