About Adamas Institute of Teacher Education
Adamas Institute of Teacher Education, located in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal is one of the most prestigious institutes of teachers' training. The college is affiliated tot the West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education Planning and Administration and recognized under National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Infrastructure & Facilities
The college is located over a land area of 2 acres and has state of the art infrastructure. There are separate blocks for each department. The classrooms have been beautifully designed and are spacious, ventilated and are loaded with all the requisite resources and facilities for the smooth running of classes.
The college library has been stocked with large number of text book, reference books, journals, magazines, reports and periodicals. There is also a reading room in the library itself where students read the books from library. All the students are free to use and borrow books from library unless they comply with the rule of the library.
There are many resource centers like Psychology resource center, Mathematics resource center, Arts and Crafts resource center etc. having all the necessary resources which help the students to learn new things easily and enhances the learning process.
There are separate common rooms for boys and girls and there is also a multipurpose hall where a number of programs are organized by the college.
The computer lab has been equipped with large number of computer systems loaded with latest configuration. These systems are connected through high speed internet and have all the required software and programs required by the students to learn new things.
Extracurricular Activities
The college lays equal emphasis on co-curricular activities along with academics. The college organizes many seminars, workshops, educational tours and special workshops to increase students interaction, develop communication skill, groom personality and develop leadership skill among students. Various programs on social service and social awareness are often organized by the college.
The students from this college get internship opportunity to practice teaching in some of the best schools across the state and the country.
Academics
The college is specialized in B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) programs which is a two year course divided into four semesters. The teaching staffs at this college are amazing. The college administration and all the teachers fully support students and that is the reason that this college has set benchmark of success in the field of teachers' training. All the students from the first batch of B.Ed were awarded first class and 30 out of 100 students qualified in S.S.C exam in first attempt.
