About Calcutta Business School
Established by the Shikshayatan Foundation, Calcutta Business School (CBS) is an autonomous educational institute. It currently offers a full-time Post-Graduate Diploma program in Management (PGDM) and other Management Development Programs (MDPs). The PGDM is a two-year program approved by AICTE. Students can also opt for co-curricular career skill courses, subject to availability, during Term V and Term VI.
Financial aidWhen seeking admission to the PGDM course, students can inquire about the financial assistance offered by the institute to academically good students. This ranges from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 3 lakh. Scholarships are also offered of Rs. 25,000 each to all students securing first and second positions in each of the first, second and third trimesters. Other forms of financial aid can be availed of through the Tuition Waiver (TW) scholarships at the time of admission and Research Assistantships (RAs) in Term IV.
Infrastrucutre and FacilitiesThe CBS 15-acre campus is a residential one. Currently, there is hostel accommodation for 120 students, with an extension for double that number planned ahead. The hostel has a general lounge area, a gym and dining hall, a doctor's chamber, a retail store and recreational facilities. The library is well stocked with subject-wise reference books and textbooks as well as relevant international journals. Students can also access information from online journals and academic software is available.
The classrooms in the MBA academy building can accommodate 60 students in each classroom. This block also has an auditorium with seating arrangements for about 120 people, a library, a lounge and a language lab.
The administrative block has a seminar hall where classes & corporate training workshops are scheduled. There is also an admissions cell and a placement cell here.
A unique feature of the CBS campus is the Management Development and Research Center (MDRC). This air-conditioned facility in its own space has a separate residential facility (50 single and 10 double occupancy rooms) with attached recreational facilities and a dining hall.
Sports infrastructure on campus includes outdoor and indoor games facilities, such as a basketball court, a badminton court and grounds for football and cricket.
