College Overview

The full name of S.K.P. Government Degree College is Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Govt. Degree College. It is located in the city of Guntakul in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a co-educational institute being run by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the very old colleges that was established in the year 1968 and is regarded as the second biggest college of Anantapur district.

The college was established with a view to offer quality education to the students of Guntakul and its nearby areas. S.K.P. Government Degree College is accredited with a B+ grade certificate by NAAC and it is affiliated to Sri Krishnadevaraya University. A number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered by the college in the disciplines of Arts and Science. Admission to this college is based as per the rules of Sri Krishnadevaraya University.

In the beginning, the college started functioning in a tin roofed yard sheds and continued there up to 1984 and then it was shifted to the present permanent campus in the outskirts of the town built over an area of 16.75 acres of land. The college is now well-equipped with all modern infrastructure and facilities and is located within a nice and quiet campus.
