Overview
UIET, Hoshiarpur was established in 2011in the city of saints near the Shivalik foothills. Though it has been established only a few years back, the institute has gained name in the northern region in a very short period of time. It's aim is to cater to the educational needs of rural students and train them in the most competitive manner to cater to the present requirements of the industry.
The Campus
The lush green campus has well-equipped infrastructure, self-sufficient state-of-the-art laboratories, central library, auditorium and workshops. The wi-fi enabled campus has sufficient hotel accommodation for students along with health center, transportation facilities and canteens. It has the best sport facilities available for students such as cricket ground, football ground, gymnasium hall, etc.
Courses
UIET, Hoshiarpur offers engineering courses in four branches i.e. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Information Technology (IT), and Mechanical Engineering (ME). The center currently has 73 seats for all the B.E. courses with an annual fee of Rs 90,000/- approx per year. Admissions to these courses are conducted by the Joint Admission Committee Chandigarh every year. The students who want to take admission in these courses must have a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Maths in Class 12th examinations and must have given the JEE Mains entrance exam conducted by NTA every year.
Placements
UIET has MOUs with a number of MNCs such as Infosys, Reliance, etc. The institute has a good placement record with students getting placed in reputed companies like Infosys, Infogain, Tech Mahindra, FCS Technologies, Aricent, Cognizant, IBM, HP, L&T, SML ISUZU and others.
