Introduction

There are very few colleges in the country which provide extensive education in Physical Education one such college is at Nayapalli in Bhubaneswar at Odisha known as Government College of Physical Education.

The college is also one of the oldest educational institution which started providing Physical Education Training since the year 1957 the college offers practical training in the reputed Barabati Stadium however since 1994 the venue shifted to Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

This Utkal University affiliated college offers world class education in grassroot level as the college is also affiliated to National Council of Teacher Education as well as to University Grants Commission.

Infrastructure facilities

The first and foremost facility offered is the library which has a collection of over 9,000 books pertaining to reference books, national and international journals, Psychological and Physiological laboratories maintained by highly qualified support staff.

The ground at the Kalinga Stadium for this purpose is prepared with synthetic material to develop the students to excel in national and international level competitions.

Admission process

Candidates who have done graduation in any discipline except engineering with not less than 50% of marks are eligible to apply for Bachelor of Physical Education however for admissions to Master in Physical Education candidates who have passed Bachelor of Physical Education or its equivalent are eligible to apply.
