About Lady Keane College
Lady Keane College started its humble journey in 1935 in form of Shillong Girls' Intermediate College and later in the year 1938 converted to Lady Keane Girls High School and College with an objective of providing high school to UG education to the girls in the region. Presently, it is affiliated with Gauhati University and providing UG education in Arts & Science and also some professional and career-oriented courses.
AdmissonsThe interested candidates should download the application form from the website of the college and fill it and send it along with the qualifying exam mark sheet as below -
1. For admission to class XI one has to send the scanned copies of the duly filled in application and qualifying education mark sheets and certificates (High School) to admissionslkchss@gmail.com
2. For admission to UG (Degree) courses one has to send the scanned copies of the duly filled in application and qualifying education mark sheets and certificates (HSC) to admissionslkchss@gmail.com
The application can also be obtained physically from the college office and the duly filled in application along with the necessary documents can also be submitted in offline mode by depositing them in the college office. The candidates should also mention on the top of their application if they want to opt for morning sessions for the studies. Intimation for admission information will be provided to the email address of the students.
FacilitiesThere is one girls' Ranger unit in the college which takes part in various scouting activities and attends many camps and events organized through Bharat Scouts and Guides. Interested girls' can get themselves registered in the Ranger's activities.
There is one Youth Red Cross unit in the college which is a constituent of the Indian Red Cross and is affiliated to the Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya. Through this, many activities of learning First Aid and other such things are accomplished which are very useful during any unfortunate disaster time if such a thing happens in the area.
There is one National Service Scheme (NSS) unit in the college that teaches students to become responsible for their environment and society. The NSS volunteers are engaged in many camping activities and many other things that inculcate in them a feeling of serving society.
College is having one National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit which organizes many camps and other activities for the NCC cadets. There are many activities which are suggested by the NCC Head Office, Shillong, from time to time which the college follows religiously.
The college has created separate cells for specific helps to the concerned students and these are Career and Counselling cell, Equal Opportunity cell, Students cell, Disaster Management cell, and women cell.
