About Manav Rachna Dental College Faridabad
MRDC or Manav Rachna Dental College was established in 2006 by the MREI group of educational institutions founded by Dr OP Bhalla, a visionary educationist. Manav Rachna Educational Institutions have under them numerous colleges and schools. MRDC Faridabad is one such flagship educational institution of the group that deals with different courses in dentistry.
Established under the Faculty of Dental Sciences, MRDC offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Dental Surgery. Affiliated to Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies Faridabad (formerly, Manav Rachna International University), the college is recognized by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India and the Dental Council of India. MRDC is NAAC 'A' grade accredited and is the first dental college in Haryana to get this accreditation.
The college is conveniently located in the Delhi-Surajkund Road in Faridabad. It is less than 10 km from the Delhi-Haryana border. As per surveys by the India Today group and the Outlook magazine, MRDC is one of the top 24 dental colleges in India. Other than its flagship Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program, the admission for which is done through NEET, it has five specializations to offer for the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) program. These are in Periodontics; Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry; Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics; Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics; Prosthodontics and Crown &Bridge. The college also has three certificate courses to offer. These certificate programmes are on Dental Aligners, Aesthetic Laser Dentistry and Implant Dentistry.
Infrastructure MRDC Faridabad has some of the best infrastructure facilities available at its campus. Every department has well-equipped labs and clinics. There are state-of-the-art facilities to carry out dental investigations and various research activities.
The library at MRDC is fully air-conditioned with a collection in excess of 5000 volumes and 1000 titles. Numerous local and international journals in the field of dental science, magazines, newspapers and periodicals are also available for the benefit of both students as well as faculty. Through the Digital library facility, students are able to access course material available on the intranet. The internet can also be accessed to refer to scientific materials related to dental science and allied subjects. Every computer at the college has material related to studies and they can be very easily accessed by the students.
Transportation MRDC provides for paid transportation facilities to students from the Delhi NCR region. The services can be availed by students residing in Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Palwal, Gurugram, Ballabhgarh and some locations in Delhi. Other than the regular routes, there are shuttle services to some of the places. Off-campus hostellers are provided with free bus services from hostel to college and vice versa.
The college has a fleet of AC and non-AC buses that are fully equipped with safety measures like GPS, speed governors, fire extinguisher and first aid kit. The annual fees and other details about availing transportation services by the college can be obtained from the MRDC website.
Hostels Other than the above infrastructure and facilities, the college has hostel facilities. There are 4 hostels, 2 each for boys and girls respectively. One of the girl's hostel is an off-campus one, the rest 3 being inside the college campus itself. The hostels have facilities like AC and non-AC rooms, generator back-up, round the clock internet connectivity, RO drinking water and a dining mess, where nutritional needs of the students as well as taste, both is taken care of.
Finally, MRDC Faridabad is not only about studies. There are also numerous avenues for personality development through sports and cultural activities. There are recreational facilities like television, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, eating joints and a convenience store. Admissions at MRDC Admissions to the BDS and MDS programs at MRDC are governed by the prescribed policies and guidelines laid down by the Indian Government and Dental Council of India from time to time. However, the basic criteria that need to be fulfilled for a BDS course are enumerated below.
Minimum seventeen years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission Minimum 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology and qualifying marks in English in class 12 or equivalent Should have qualified the NEET-UG competitive exam in the year of admission. For admission to MDS courses, the candidate should have cleared the NEET-MDS besides being a holder of a BDS degree from a recognized university. The candidate should have completed a yearlong internship too.
