About Swami Vivekanand Govt P. G. College, Lohaghat
Affiliated to Kumaun University, Swami Vivekanand Govt P. G. College, Lohaghat was established in the year 1979 by the then State Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. It offers UG/PG programs in arts and science streams. It also offers a B.Ed. course. It is one of the study centres for Uttarakhand Open University (UOU). The college has many scholarship schemes and fee concessions as per Govt. policies and rules and regulations of the Kumaun University.
The college has a full-fledged library facility for the benefit of students. The students can get 2 books at a time. Magazines and periodicals are also available for reference in the library.
Among extracurricular activities, NCC is available for students to join and many join it for special considerations and advantages associated with NCC 'B' and 'C' certificate holders in the defence services. There are concessions for admission in the professional courses too.
Students may also join the National Service Scheme (NSS) to generate a sense of social responsibility and welfare.
There are good sports facilities available at the college comprising of all the major outdoor and indoor games and sports. Annual sports activities are arranged and contests are held from time to time.
