About Government Post Graduate College, Manila
Originally established as a degree college in the year 1989, this Government College was upgraded to Post Graduate level in the year 2015. It is located in a village (Manila) of Almora district in the state of Uttarakhand.
It offers UG courses in various streams of science and arts, but PG courses only in arts and humanities. It also offers Diploma course in Tourism and Journalism. As the college is affiliated to Kumaun University, the syllabus and curriculum is according to that university only.
This college is a Study Center of Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani (Nainital) for various courses and the Study Center Code number is – 17066.
For seeking admission, the student has to collect the application form from the office of the college and then submit it duly filled along with the necessary documents in the college office. The admission will be based on merit of the qualifying exam followed by an interview.
There is a library and facilities for most of the popular games. It has a NSS unit to train the students for social causes and inculcate social awareness among them. The college has a Rover/Ranger wing, where interested students may join.
