About Hukum Singh Bora Govt Degree College, Someshwar
Hukum Singh Bora Govt Degree College, Someshwar in Almora district of Uttarakhand state was founded in the year 2006. It is located near the famous tourist town of Kausani in Almora. It offers UG courses in many subjects and PG courses in a few. As the college is affiliated to Kumaun University, the syllabus is as prescribed by the university. Facilities The College has a library with a good collection of books as well as e-books, reference books, magazines, periodicals etc. Presently about 5,120 books are there. There is one reading room with a good number of computers installed, with whose help the students can refer to e-books available in the local college network.
As for sports, most of the sports and games are available at the college campus. Tournaments are held time to time in addition to annual sports. National Service Scheme (NSS) is also available for the interested students.
AdmissionsThe admissions to the college are done as per the rules and regulations of the Kumaun University. The interested candidates have to collect the application form from the college, fill it completely and attach the copies of educational credentials like certificates and mark sheets from High School to last eligible qualification. Other documents like Aadhaar card, proof of residence, transfer and character certificate, parent's declaration, etc are also to be submitted. Based on merit, the students will be called for a document verification interview before final admission.
As per the Kumaun University rules the candidates seeking admission to UG science or arts courses should have at least 40% marks in their class XII exam. Students who are seeking admission for PG courses should have obtained at least 40% marks in their relevant UG degree.
