About Divine Institute of Media Science
Divine Institute of Media Science (DIMS) is a renowned digital media college in Kerala. The college is located at Muringoor in Thrissur. This institute is affiliated with the University of Calicut and was established in the year 2013. The Divine Institute of Media Science was established under the leadership of the Vincentian Fathers to provide value-based technical education in digital media science. The main objective of this institution is to mould efficient media professionals. DIMS is emerging as one of the best digital media colleges in India.
Facilities The Divine Institute of Media Science provides very good infrastructure facilities. The audio studio at this college is one of the highlights. The studio is equipped with modern facilities. The latest software like Nuendo, Pro Tools, and Adobe Audition is used for sound recording and dubbing. Cinematography Studio, Screening Theater, Computer Lab, and Library are all equipped with modern facilities.
Courses DIMS offers Digital Media Degree Programmes. The major media courses offered by the college are Bachelor of Multimedia Communication (BMMC), Bachelor of Visual Communication (BVC), Bachelor of Mass Communication and Journalism (BMCJ), and Bachelor of Film and Television (BFT). All these courses are degree programs of 3 years duration. The minimum educational qualification for admission is a pass in plus 2 or equivalent examination.
Admission The rules and regulations of Calicut University are applicable for admission to this college. Those who have passed Plus 2 and are awaiting the result can apply for admission. The application can be downloaded from the college website. Applications can be collected directly from the college office by paying the prescribed fee.
The admission process will start from the time the Plus 2 result is released. Eligible students will be called for interviews after checking the application form. Admission to all courses is based on merit.
