About Gitam School of Science, Hyderabad
GITAM School of Science is located within the GITAM campus in Patancheru Mandal, some 50 km away from central Hyderabad. Located far from the maddening crowds of Hyderabad city, the GITAM campus is a popular destination for higher education for students not only from Telangana but also beyond. Affiliated with GITAM University, Visakhapatnam, the college offers undergraduate, postgraduate and many research programs in the field of basic sciences. The courses are offered on subjects like mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, data science, computer science and one even on food technology.
Infrastructure The college campus is a most modern one with vast open spaces inside the campus. It has the latest in infrastructure, like digitally enabled smart classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, computer labs, and a well-stocked library. There are facilities for sports and also opportunities to take part in various inter-college cultural fests that are organized regularly. The college has its own career guidance cell and a placement cell to help the students get placed with industries. Among other facilities are a canteen, an infirmary, and transport.
Admissions For admissions at GITAM School of Science, eligible candidates will have to appear for the GITAM Aptitude Test (GAT). Based on GAT scores, candidates are called for counseling and the courses are allotted. The application for GAT can be done online by visiting the college website. Of two hours' duration, the online test has an objective format and covers the subjects of physics, chemistry, and maths/biology.
Candidates can also apply through their TS EAMCET or AP EAMCET exam scores, and such candidates need not appear for GAT. To apply for TS EAMCET or AP EAMCET, the candidates should visit the respective websites of these state-level entrance tests.
For eligibility for the UG programs, the candidates should have scored at least 50% marks in aggregate in the relevant stream in their 10+2 from a recognized school board or pre-university. Postgraduate admissions are through the entrance test GAT (PG Science). The candidates should have scored above 50% marks in aggregate in their undergraduate degree course in the relevant discipline.
