About Adhiparasakthi College of Engineering
Adhiparasakthi Engineering College, established in Nov. 1984 by the Trust with the then three popular branches - Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication Engineering mainly meant to serve the rural community by virtue of its location at Melmaruvathur.
Adhiparasakthi Engineering College was established in the year 1984 with the blessings of founder president His Holiness Arulthiru Bangaru Adigalar in order to meet the growing demands for engineers in the modern industries. This institution is governed by the Vice-president Thirumathi Lakshmi Bangaru Adigalar and the correspondent Thiru G.B.Senthil Kumar. This institution is one of the prestigious educational institutions functioning under the Adhiparasakthi Charitable, Medical, Educational and Cultural Trust.
This college is unique because it is situated in an area where there are not too many other engineering colleges. This college is part of a big group that has so many colleges of Engineering, Arts, and Science and so on, at Melmaruvathur, which is around 100 kilometers from the heart of Chennai city but well connected by buses and trains. Melmaruvathur is situated on the Chennai to Tiruchirapalli national highway and there are inter-city buses that stop here. Similarly, Kalavai is a rural area town, but it is connected to Kanchipuram, which is a district headquarters town.
Since the college is part of a big cash-rich group, it has stayed on as a viable entity and it gives benefits such as PF, Gratuity, and the ESI Medical benefits to its Faculty Members. This is one reason why it attracts fairly good faculty members who work with the institution for a long time. Furthermore, a big fleet of buses picks up and drops the Faculty Members from the nearby towns and villages. There has been an observable change in the quality of engineers and even MBA graduates from this college. They have been able to find some job or the other in the growing manufacturing sector in Chennai, and even if the graduates work as apprentices in groups like the TVS, they are able to find far better jobs elsewhere. This is one reason why the college has managed to grow in a tough environment and the locals opine that the Management is keen to develop the college, at least to some extent. Moreover, the college now comes under Ranipet District, and the State Government is keen to develop every single district. Hence, there has been some initiative of the Tamil Nadu Government to introduce some value-added courses, particularly in IT. This development will also add a fillip to this college in the near future. - ABSivakumar
