St. Edmund's College came into existence in the year 1923 and it was the first college to be fully established in Meghalaya. At first the college was affiliated to Calcutta University and when North-Eastern Hill University was founded, it gore affiliated under it. The first principal of St Edmund College was Bro. J E McCann. The college currently offers Post Graduate courses along with Master Degree in Social Work. The college provides various facilities such as hostel, canteen, gym, women study centre, auditorium and many more.
