About Sri Ganesh College of Arts and Science
Ganesh College of Education was started in September 2006 with the sole aim of imparting education to the students on latest theories and technologies in order to develop their skills for employability to succeed in the national and multinational job market. The college has a four-storied building with majestic appearance in a pollution free environment, which is conducive for health and better learning.
Sri Ganesh College of Arts and Science is a part of Sri Ganesh group of educational institutions. The college educates the students in the various fields of Arts and Science. It is a co-educational institution affiliated to Periyar University. The college has also received ISO 9001: 2008 certificate. The college provides good infrastructure to the students and also encourages students to participate in activities beyond academics.
AcademicsThe college offers UG, PG and research programmes in Arts and Science. It offers 13 UG and 6 PG courses in total. In addition to these courses, the college also provides M.Phil research programs in Computer Science, Commerce, Mathematics and English.
The college follows the syllabus and academic guidelines as prescribed by Periyar University, Salem. The academic excellence of the students is evaluated through examinations. To provide wide exposure to the students, the college regularly organizes guest lectures by eminent personalities in various fields and also allows the students for industrial visits and educational tours. Each department of the college organizes state level and national level seminars and conferences periodically.
Other than academics, the college also provides soft skill training, aptitude training, personality development and other placement related training to the students.
InfrastructureThe college has large buildings with ventilated classrooms, conference hall, seminar hall and interview hall. To improve the practical knowledge, the college has well equipped electronics, computer, physics, microbiology, biotechnology and chemistry labs. The computer lab present in the college is fully air conditioned and it has modern computers with high speed processors and latest LCD monitors. The modern digital library of the college has wide varieties of books, journals and magazines for references. In addition, the library also has CD's, e-books, e-journals and facilities to take photocopies. The college offers facilities like free internet, RO water, transport and hostel. Separate hostel is available for boys and girls with mess facilities. Other amenities which are present in the college are PCO/STD/ISD, water, doctor and home theater facilities.
ActivitiesThe college conducts many club related activities regularly and the clubs that are actively working in the college are YRC, NSS, RRC, Fine Arts Club, Science Club, Communication Club, Yoga & Meditation Club, Research Forum, Higher Education Cell, Painting and Photography Club, Literacy Club, Motivation Club, Student Personality Development wing, Green Club, Chess Club, Book Lovers Club, Students Forum, Sports Club, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Women's Welfare Club and Tamil Mandram. All the clubs in the college conducts student related activities and moulds the students in various fields depending upon the interest of the students. The social wing of the college conducts many awareness programmes, rallies and camps for the welfare of the students and the society.
The college also conducts cultural fests and organizes festival celebrations every year. The sports club of the college trains the students in various games and sports depending upon the interest of the students.
