The College was Established by Kelkar-Vaze Family by starting Unaided Courses in 1984. Ket’s V.G. Vaze college is the Youngest college to get permanent affiliation from the University of Mumbai. Vaze college is Listed as one of the top 20 colleges in India by IndiaToday in 1997, The first affiliated college in Maharashtra accredited with A 5 star and is Re accredited in 2004 with A grade. Awarded as A ‘College with Potential for Excellence’,Achieved Best College Award from University of Mumbai in 2005.
College Offers Undergraduate Courses in Commerce, Arts and Science with 122 subject combinations, Post Graduate Programmes in PG by research in Botany, Zoology, Chemistry ,PG by papers in Zoology, Chemistry ,MSc IT, MSc Biotech , SelfFinancing and Ph.D in Economics, Zoology, Chemistry, Botany, Life sciences.

College provides course in Post Graduate Diploma in Perfumery and Cosmetics Management (PGDPCM) .The Post Graduate Diploma in Perfumery and Cosmetics Management is the first of its kind course introduced in India in partnership with the globally reputed French Group Institute Superior International of Perfumes, Cosmetics and Aromatic Alimentaire(ISIPCA), which is backed by the Chamber of Commerce and University of Versailles.
The PGDPCM programme also aims at moulding students into proactive managers with entrepreneurial vision and commitment. The management training will include Operations Management, Human Resource Management, Management of Information, Basic Accounting and Management and Cost Accounting, Context of Business Enterprise, Marketing and Entrepreneurship and Strategic Development of Enterprise.
