About Sree Neelakanta Sanskrit College, Pattambi
This college is established in memory of the great Scholar Sri. Punnassery Neelakandha sarma. Sri.Punnassery Neelakandha Sarma is not only a Sanskrit scholar but he dedicated his life for the promotion of the divine language - Samskritam.In olden days he started a school called Saraswatodyothini Pathasala, purely for teaching Sanskrit to anyone without any discrimination of caste, community or religion.Our great scholars like Sri.K.P.Narayana Pisharody, Sri.Kuttykrishna Marar & Sri.Sankunni Menon etc.etc. were the students in this institution. Later this school shifted to the present SNGS College. Eventhough it is named as Sanskrit College all the branches of the modern science, arts and commerce are also taught in this college.This college is coming under the Calicut University and thousands of students are studying in this college.
