About Christ Deemed to be University, Bengaluru
The Christ College, Bangalore was founded in the year 1969 by St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, a social reformist and educationalist. The College was declared as a deemed university by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the name Christ University. But in 2008, on the orders of the Supreme Court, the word 'university' was removed and now it is known as Christ (Deemed to be University).
Spread over a vast area, the campus includes various facilities. The college has about 20,000 students including students from various foreign countries. Apart from running courses in different disciplines, the college also provided excellent facilities for research.
