About GITAM Institute of Management
GITAM Institute of Management or GIM is located at Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The business school is affiliated to Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, a Deemed to be University with headquarters in Andhra Pradesh. Established in 1988 and located within the GITAM University campus at Rushikonda in Vishakapatnam, the college offers numerous UG and PG programs in business management. There are also some doctoral programs, like Ph.D. and M.Phil, on offer too at this institute. GIM has an illustrious faculty. Other than its core and full-time faculty, there are visiting faculty members from the country as well as the USA, Canada and the UK. The faculty members are mostly Ph.D. and come from an industry background.
Infrastructure and resources GITAM Institute of Management has a world-class infrastructure. It has a lush green campus with serene surroundings. It has a number of elegantly planned buildings for administrative-academic purposes and for facilities like a library, hostels, canteen and an indoor stadium. The classrooms and the laboratories are spacious and well equipped. The central library or the Knowledge Resource Centre has a building of its own with more than a million books, including e-books. There are numerous journals, periodicals and magazines. Students have online access to a host of e-publications, both local as well as overseas. Other than the central library, GIM has its own dedicated library for the benefit of its business management students.
The IT infrastructure is a huge one. The entire campus is connected with a Wide Area Network through fibre optic means. The entire campus is provided with a 1000 Mbps high-speed internet facility. There are auditoriums and conference halls that are utilized for various workshops, conferences, seminars and functions. Other than academics, every student at GIM gets the opportunity to participate in a number of indoor and outdoor games like volleyball, basketball, cricket, tennis and athletics. For the health-conscious, there is even a well-equipped gymnasium, including a separate one for girl students. Sports and cultural events are part and parcel of every student's life at the GITAM Institute of Management. Students have often won laurels in state and national level competitions. The indoor stadium here is of international standard and so are its clay and synthetic tennis courts.
The campus has separate hostels for boys and girls. The rooms are well furnished, have a means for recreation and indoor games. The hostel mess, with mechanized and most modern kitchen equipment, provides for hygienic food. The students have access to internet connectivity and pure drinking water.
There are a few other facilities like a post office, bank, ATM booth, food courts, medical stores, stationery shop and a hobby centre, where students get to showcase their skills in music, dance, singing and drama. GIM also provides for an English Language Learning Centre, which enhances the capability of the students in reading, writing and speaking skills of the students.
Admissions at GIM Admissions at this college for its postgraduate or MBA programs are through entrance tests like GOT (GIM Online Test) or MAT/CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/NMAT/ICET/TCET. Based on your score in one of the above entrance tests and your marks in board exams and graduation, you are called for group discussion and interview. For undergraduate programs, candidates are selected based on marks in 10+2 and GOT scores. The application process for GOT is done online. Those who have good test scores from any of the above national level tests need not appear for GOT. Successful candidates can avail of scholarships based on their percentile scores in the entrance tests.
